Liaison meetings with Hackney Council

A system of quarterly liaison meetings between ourselves and the Hackney traffic & transportation team were re-established in September 2004 after a long break (the previous such meeting that we can recall was in 1998).

These meetings provide a regular, formal line of communication to complement one-off consultations and ad hoc contacts.

Since 2002 we have been members of the Transport Sub-Partnership of the Hackney Strategic Partership which administers regeneration funds from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund and also provides a much-needed forum for interested parties to discuss, shape and co-ordinate policy and practice across the authority and the community as a whole.

We hope that we are helping to foster an understanding among councillors and employees of the way in which cycling has impacts and demands not only on the transport agenda in its narrower understanding, but also on areas including health, housing, built environment, work, leisure and social cohesion.

Reports of cycle liaison meetings past:

June 1998

March 1998

December 1997

September 1997

May 1997
